Who we are

This website is operated by Sparktech Electrical Maintenance Pty Ltd (ABN 73 677 062 921), an electrical contracting business based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, operating across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

Sparktech is committed to handling personal information responsibly and, where applicable, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you submit an enquiry through this website, we collect the information you enter into the form:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address, if you choose to provide one
• Your company or organisation, if you choose to provide one
• The suburb or site the enquiry relates to
• The type of property and the type of job you select
• The description of the work or fault you provide

You may also contact us by telephone or email, in which case we collect whatever information you choose to provide.

This is a business website. We ask only for information we need in order to respond to an enquiry and quote or carry out work. Please do not include sensitive personal information in an enquiry, as it is not required and we do not ask for it.

Information collected automatically

Where website analytics are enabled, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located and how they arrived. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

When an enquiry is sent successfully we record that an enquiry was made, along with the type of property and type of job selected and the page it came from. The name, contact details and description you typed are not sent to analytics.

Where we are running Google Ads, information about a visit that began with an advertisement may be recorded through Google Ads conversion tracking so we can understand which advertising is working. This is used in aggregate. Neither is loaded unless it is switched on.

Spam protection

Our enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish genuine submissions from automated ones. Turnstile receives limited technical information about your browser and connection for that purpose. It does not require you to complete an image puzzle and does not build an advertising profile of you.

Why we collect it

We collect personal information through this website so that we can:

• Respond to your enquiry
• Discuss, quote and carry out electrical work
• Keep records of work performed and communications relating to it
• Meet our legal, licensing and record keeping obligations as an electrical contractor
• Understand how the website and our advertising are performing

We do not sell personal information. We do not use enquiry details to add you to a marketing list without your agreement.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is necessary, and only with:

• Service providers who operate parts of this website. Cloudflare, which hosts this website, processes enquiry form submissions and provides spam protection through Cloudflare Turnstile; Resend, which delivers enquiry emails to our inbox; Microsoft 365, where our business email is hosted; and, where enabled, Google, which provides website analytics and advertising measurement. These providers process information on our behalf.
• Electricians and specialist partners engaged on your job. Where a job is resourced through our network of electricians or requires a specialist partner, we share only what they need in order to attend and carry out the work.
• Where required by law. Including in response to a lawful request from a regulator, court or government agency.

Some of these service providers operate infrastructure outside Australia. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How we store and protect it

Enquiries submitted through this website are validated and checked for spam, then delivered by email to info@sparktechelectrical.com.au and stored in our business email system. This website is a static site: it has no customer database, no user accounts and no admin login. The function that processes your enquiry passes it straight to our email provider and does not write it to any storage of its own. Our email provider retains a short-term delivery record in the ordinary course of sending the message, and the enquiry itself is then held in our business email system.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but this website is served over an encrypted connection.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and job records for as long as we need them for the purpose they were collected, and for as long as we are required to keep them to meet our legal and record keeping obligations as an electrical contractor. Records that are no longer needed are destroyed or de-identified.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies: Cloudflare Turnstile for spam protection and, where they are enabled, Google Analytics for usage measurement and Google Ads for advertising measurement. It does not use cookies to build an advertising profile of you across other websites.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The website will continue to work normally if you do, although some measurement will be incomplete.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
