Electrical faults on kitchen equipment, three phase supplies, switchboards and controls. For restaurants, cafes, bakeries, hotels and clubs where an electrical fault stops service.
South East Queensland and Northern NSW, from Tweed Heads through the Gold Coast, Yatala, Beenleigh and Logan to Brisbane.
What we get called to
In a kitchen an electrical fault is not an inconvenience, it is a section of the menu you cannot serve. These are the situations we deal with.
Breakers and RCDs tripping under load, taking out equipment or a section of the kitchen partway through service.
Electrical faults on ovens, dishwashers, cooking equipment and kitchen machinery, diagnosed on the equipment rather than only at the isolator.
Supply and connection faults on three phase cooking equipment, dishwashers and larger kitchen plant.
Fan supplies, fan controls, starters and control panel faults affecting canopy and exhaust operation.
Switchboard faults, and boards that have run out of room or capacity as the venue has added equipment over the years.
Supplies, isolators, controls, contactors, protection and electrical fault finding associated with fan motors and equipment.
Front of house and back of house lighting faults, repairs and replacements.
Capability
Our scope can extend beyond the supply and isolator to the electrical components and wiring within the equipment. Where a fault sits in the electrical side of the equipment, we can fault find and repair it.
Because we can fault find beyond the supply and connection point, an electrical fault within the equipment can often be diagnosed and repaired as part of the same electrical job.
This is electrical work on kitchen equipment. We are electricians rather than appliance technicians, and where a fault is not electrical we will tell you.
Scope
A lot of time gets lost in kitchens ringing the wrong trade. This is the split, so you can work out who you actually need before anyone attends.
The electrical side
Outside our scope
If the fault sits within our electrical scope, we can deal with it. If the findings point to the gas, refrigerant or mechanical side, we'll tell you so you can get the right trade involved.
Upgrades and additions
As venues add or change equipment over time, switchboards can eventually run short of available capacity or space.
Larger installation work is covered on the projects and installations page.
Testing and records
RCD testing, test and tag, and emergency and exit lighting testing with the associated records and registers.
Testing can be arranged on its own or as part of an ongoing electrical maintenance arrangement for the venue. There is more detail on the commercial electrical page.
Attending
Planned work is scheduled around service and trading hours wherever it can be, so the kitchen is not down when you need it.
For breakdowns and after-hours requirements, call to check current availability.
Venues
South East Queensland and Northern NSW, from Tweed Heads through the Gold Coast, Yatala, Beenleigh and Logan to Brisbane. Licensed in both states, so venues either side of the border are equally in scope.
